Guide to Cannon Beach, OR

 In Uncategorized

Dennis and I visit Cannon Beach almost every weekend in the summer and a few times a month in the winter, it’s like our second home. It’s only an hour and twenty five minutes from Portland, OR. The whole town is clean, lively, has the cutest beach houses and fluffy bunnies hopping around everywhere, what’s not to like??

So we were beyond honored to have the opportunity to be hosted by the coziest Inn at Archcape!

I always get questions on what there is to do at Cannon Beach so I wanted to make this little guide on our favorite coffee shops/restaurants and view points!

First I’ll introduce you to the Inn at Arch Cape. It’s walking distance to the beach and just a five minute drive from Cannon Beach. Then the second part of the blog will be on the town and the beach itself!

*P.S-

I took a lot of videos on my phone of the inside of the Inn, but unfortunatley they are too large to be uploaded 🙁 But you can find them on the story Highlights on the Inns Instagram here

You can watch them only from the mobile app I think.

On our way to the beach, goreous scenery

View from the Parking lot of the Inn (past that mint door on the first floor they have your key and they have a surprisingly good variety of DVDs!)

Cutest little key chain that comes with the key!

We were here over Valetines Day Weekend and they had a bag of sweet treats waiting for us. Heather and her husband are such amazing hosts!

Shared Sun Deck

Back door from the patio with view of the ocean

Twin bed in the same space as living room (only got a video of the main bedroom but the video file was too big for the blog :/

I wish my videos were able to upload so you can see how freaking cute the whole place was. Definitely staying here again for how cozy the space is!

They re-stock the firewood daily and room service gives you fresh towels and does the bed every day.

I know this photo isn’t the best but I had to share. We we’ve been planning on watching The Shawshank Redemption for a while now. We even saved it as a movie night specifically for this beach trip. As we were getting ready to watch it, the internet went down and we were pretty bummed out. When we went downstairs to see their DVD options, I just started laughing when I saw that they had the movie on DVD! It was such a pleasant surprise!

Sunset light from back door

View of the ocean from patio.

They have wine festivals and sand castle events in the summer. The 54th annual Sand Castle even this year is Saturday, June 9th.

Our FAVORITE restraurant for dinner, Driftwood. It has three areas you can eat from. The main indoor area is really cute, with candlelight and flowers. The bar area looks like a cozy Irish pub and the outdoor patio with a fire place (bar and patio are 21 and over. I believe the patio is 21 and over after a certain time).

Insomnia Coffee: Our favorite coffee shop to work from! They have daily baked goods and gluten free options. And you HAVE to try their chai!! It’s literally heaven melting in your mouth!

Lazy Susans Cafe, amazing benedicts (no gluten free options) but still worth it for this sandwhich Dennis and I created!

Leaving a note for the Inn as we were checking out

Fulatnos Pizza, they do delivery and have a lot of custom options as well as glutten free pizza

This beach right when you drive into Cannon Beach. If you’re standing at Haystack rock and facing the ocean, it’s on your far left where the cliffs are. Perfect place to go if you want a more quiet area to relax.

Haystack Rock right before sunset

Horses and Ponies are often spotted around here with their owners 🙂 (also right behind the horse is a really good Crepe place called Crepe Neptune. It has both sweet and savory crepes (no gluten free options)

Sea Level Coffee has the cutest little space! It’s down the road from downtown Cannon Beach. They bake fresh baguettes and pasteries daily (also one of good friends works here!)

Our favorite view point! If you’re afraid of heights, don’t sit on the edge. The view point is right off the road towards Manzanita Beach, you cant miss it 🙂

Cannon Beach over Summer and Winter

They decorate the entire town for Christmas! It’s a must see! This pink striped building is a candy shop. Lots of chocolates, taffies, and you can even see how they make the candy through a glass window!

Fultanos Pizza. Add garlic sauce as the base, it’s a game changer!

The little alley right by Bellas Espresso, Suzys Ice Cream, and Pizza A Fetta (another good pizza shop that has pizza by the slice and glutten free options)

Cute Beach Houses

Quiet Side of Cannon Beach (where the cliffs are)

We love this place so much we took our wedding photos here with Kayla Sprint
